Notable Changes from the Previous Year
All models have been updated with a 14.9-inch infotainment display and a 12.3-inch digital gauge cluster. These run the latest iDrive 8 software, with updated menu structures, graphics and an integrated voice command function. A new toggle shifter on the centre console is also standard on all trims.
Infotainment and Technology Features
The iDrive 8 system is hosted on a 12.3-inch gauge cluster and a 14.9-inch infotainment display. This offers an intuitive interface with the option for a console-mounted click-wheel controller or touchscreens. The system supports Apple CarPlay, Android Auto and in-dash navigation. Optional features include Wi-Fi and a wireless charging pad.
Exterior Design
With distinctive BMW double kidney grille inserts, the exterior of the 4 Series emphasises maximum independence. Available individual paint finishes and flamboyant accents allow you to personalise the exterior for an elegant appearance. The standard wheels are 18-inch, with an option for 19-inch or 20-inch wheels with various finishes.
Interior Comfort and Cargo Space
High-quality materials dominate the interior of the 4 Series with a mix of physical and touch controls. Standard features include dual-zone climate control, remote start, keyless entry and perforated SensaTec leatherette upholstery. The cargo space is less generous than it is in the 3 Series, especially for convertible models.
Performance Features
A 2.0-litre four-cylinder turbo engine that provides 255 horsepower is standard on the base model. Higher trims have a 3.0-litre inline six-cylinder turbo engine that pumps 382 horsepower and 369 lb-ft of torque. Both engines are coupled with an eight-speed automatic transmission, paddle shifters and a new selector lever on the central console.

The Driver Assistant Professional system offers several safety features to give you peace of mind. Among other features, it includes emergency stop assistance, steering and lane control, lane keep assist and active side collision detection. The Parking Assistant Plus with surround view system makes parking and manoeuvring easier.
